This paddle along Cedar Creek runs through Congaree Park. Congaree National Park has the largest area of old growth bottomland hardwood forest in the United States. There is a lot of biodiversity in this area, adding to the allure of this paddling experience. The lush tree growth in this floodplain forest are among the tallest in the eastern states and forms one of the tallest temperate deciduous forests canopies in the world. Bald cypress is one of the more common tree in the park. Wildlife you may see include bobcats, deer, feral pigs, feral dogs, coyotes, armadillos, turtles, snakes and alligators. Fishing is good here too.
